OT- Overwhelmed/ Vent.
So Monday I get a call for cub scouts saying we need to do the bird houses this week instead of next week. Can you have the wood cut by Wednesday, thinking it would be no big deal and say yes. Well the saw we were suppose to use is no where to be found and my husband work schedule was awful so he could not do it. I run to Home Depot because they say they can cut the wood. So I drag all 3 kids out and drive 1/2 hour to be told that the guy that does it was not there. PO'd I drive a little more to Lowe's and they help me but won't cut it.
Then I realize my little guy has pictures this morning and I forgot to get his hair cut and now it is too late. Plus we have two other cub scout projects to finish and dance class and religion class. I just want to scream. My hubby is working 6 days a week right now and so I am just very overwhelmed trying to get it all done by myself. So I have stressed all night which I know is not good for me or the baby but I have tried everything. I even called the cub scout leader and said there is just no way I can get this done and I am very sorry and I still no relief. So I thought Maybe venting might help. What I would really like to do is scream. I do not know how single parents do it. My husband has only been working this schedule for 3 weeks and I am a nut case. Plus he is on nights so Sunday he sleeps half the day.
Thanks for letting me vent,
Emily

sorry to hear you are having a rough go of things! I would leave a list and my phone # at home depot and tell them to call me when he comes in and has it all cut! Sheesh! You mean to tell me out of all the people that work there there is only ONE person that can use the saw?!
Hope your day goes better!
Hope your day goes better!
Did you already do all of that this morning? Wow, that's more than I'll accomplish all day!
I'm sorry you're having a tough time. That's the downfall of being a good mom...we stay overcommitted and overwhelmed too much of the time! Take a deep breath and cut yourself some slack. The world's not going to come to an end if the birdhouses aren't done this week. If it was, they should have given you more than two days' notice.
You're doing so much more than most of the parents out there. Take note of that and give yourself a pat on the back and a break every once in a while. Your sanity needs to be as much of a priority as pleasing everyone else. (I can say that because I know exactly where you're coming from.)

btw, MO is where I consider "home." My family lives in the bootheel, and we lived in St Louis for quite a while. My husband's family is south of StL. And I went to college in Fulton.
